Makakatana Bay Lodge consists of eight spacious accommodations, each individually placed on a raised deck. Situated in the wooded dune landscape of the lake, the accommodations are surrounded by trees and offer fascinating views. Makakatana Bay Lodge is located on the shores of Lake St Lucia, the largest lake in South Africa, in the east of the country. The area around the lake is part of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a national park that is home to the highest crocodile and hippo populations in South Africa. The nearby Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, one of the oldest wildlife sanctuaries in South Africa, is also home to leopards also home to leopards, rhinos, buffalo and other animals.
