Der Hauptbereich der Mwiba Lodge direkt an einem Fluss gelegen

Tanzania and the legendary Serengeti far off the beaten track - this promise is fulfilled by the exclusive Mwiba Lodge in the north of the African country. In the middle of the wild nature of a private concession of around 500 square kilometers, the lodge is picturesquely situated above a rocky gorge cut into the original landscape by the Arugusinyai River. Decorated in muted colors and built from natural materials, the tented suites at Mwiba Lodge blend in with the cliffs and the untamed beauty of Africa. Guests of the lodge can create a unique safari according to their preferences and wishes. Thanks to a private guide and vehicle, neither opening times nor times of day have any influence on the rhythm at which nature and culture lovers experience their individual safari. In addition, the concession around Mwiba Lodge is home to several traditional Tanzanian tribes whose authentic way of life and culture provide deep insights into the true heart of Africa.

Rooms

With just ten exclusive tented suites designed for a maximum of twenty guests, Mwiba Lodge is an oasis of relaxation and privacy. Each accommodation has its own Kiswahili name and while six of the suites are spread across the grounds, four tents can be used as double suites by families or friends traveling together through connecting walkways. The impressive interior of the tented suites is characterized by modern furniture, natural materials, copper elements and traditional African art objects. In the center of the sleeping area, guests can expect a comfortable king-size or two single beds, romantically enveloped by a mosquito net. A built-in cooling system, which uses the evening breeze, as well as air conditioning and a fan ensure that the interior remains pleasantly cool even in the warmer months. In addition to a lounge area with comfortable seating, the accommodation also offers an en-suite bathroom with a toilet and an indoor and outdoor shower. From a private deck, you can enjoy the wonderful view over the river or the nearby waterhole.

Culinary

The modern furnishing style with comfortable sofas and armchairs, impressively accentuated by African art, is also continued in the central building of Mwiba Lodge. In addition to a lounge with an open fireplace and a well-stocked bar, there is also a cozy library, a swimming pool and a natural wine cellar set into the rock. The sumptuous breakfast is served as a buffet and leaves nothing to be desired with fresh fruit, yogurt, muesli, hot and cold dishes. Well-equipped for a long day on safari, the light lunch can also be served as a picnic during the safari or taken at the lodge. The extensive dinner consists of a three-course menu with various options and can be enjoyed either in the dining area or as an intimate dinner on the private deck. Special culinary requests can be accommodated with prior notice.

Activities

At Mwiba Lodge, the guests alone determine their individual daily routine. A highlight are the game drives in private off-road vehicles through the concession of Mwiba Lodge and the even larger Maswa Reserve. From morning game drives to excursions under the cover of night and whole days in the bush, the guides at Mwiba Lodge make everything possible for adventurous travelers. Culinary catering in the bush is also taken care of. Bush walks and helicopter excursions as well as fly-camping in the bush are also possible at the lodge. Those interested in culture also can get to know the Hadza, Datoga and Maasai tribes with their unique customs and traditions in an authentic way. After an exciting day, a swimming pool and a heated whirlpool invite you to relax. Alternatively, tired muscles can be stretched in the fitness area or loosened up with a treatment in the in-house spa.
